Aum Sri Sai Ram
The Mid Atlantic region of the Sathya Sai organization has been conducting a sailent retreat since March of 2024.
True spiritual seekers who want to know how to align themselves with their own inner spirit.
The event was organized in Poconos, PA.in March the guest speaker was Dr. Sudarshan an alumni from Sathya Sai University where he received his PhD degree from the chancellor of the Universe( Sathya Sai Baba).
The event was attended by 50 devotees from Washington, Maryland, Virginia and New Jersey.
I was invited by our devotional coordinator to attend. Due to the weather conditions and my physical condition I chose not to participate in the event.
Many participants after the weekend wished they had another opportunity to experience the bliss and peace once again.
The committee organized another session in October 25-27,2024. This session the guest speaker was a very well known member of the Sai community who lives in Tustin, California. Dr. P.V Shankar. All devotional coordinators were announcing regarding this event on the weekly satsang. This time not much success of participants unlike the previous one.
Only 18 had signed up. Once again I was asked to join, I was still not sure if I could join them!!
Dr. Shankar nephew ( Kumar) requested me to come just for one day. I declined once again.
On the 25th almost 40 person were signed up and had a blast at the event with a lot of fun, laughter and serious discussion and meditation sessions.
Kumar said…. Koushik you really missed a great opportunity to witness Prasanthi Nilayam brought to Poccons. Dr. Shankar recreated interview with Swami for 45min that his family experienced in the divine presence .
Started with close your eyes and imagine the dew drops at 4 am, the birds are chirping and slowly waking up and the sun rises and can hear the sound coming from the trees……
Dr. Shankar had the audience in absolute silence and tears welling down from a few.
The session ended and people were talking about their experiences and wished how can we be always in touch with the energy!!
Another friend who wanted to meet Dr. Shankar reached out to him and said “ I want to see you in the next few days as I have to go to Canada. He had just celebrated his 80th birthday.
I had mentioned to the uncle that I would take him to meet Dr. Shankar at any time or day. When Dr. Shankar got the message he replied “ No need to come and see me “. I will come and see you today after the retreat at 7:30pm.
Mr. Sivaraman informed me of the plan and said please come home for dinner with your family.
I asked him why invite me? Just enjoy the time with Shankar and family. He said No! You were the person who kept insisting me to contact, text and communicate with Shankar to meet.
Sivaraman uncles house is in walking distance from our house. We arrived promptly and awaiting the guests.
After initial conversation we sat down for dinner. The men were seated at the dining table. Shankar Anna was at the center front and I sat next to him on the left hand side.
I started saying… I am sorry for not attending the event even though I was asked several times by Dipa, Lalit and Kumar. He replied…. All those who attended were meant to be at the event.
Then he said….Koushik you don’t need any of these things,” Swami is with you on Demand at your disposal “.
I couldn’t argue with that statement as it has been proven at all times.
Kumar shared all the highlights of the session and Shankar Anna shared a few experiences with Swami in his 4 decades of being in the close proximity with the divine master.
