My
daughter, Neha, was enrolled in the Hindu Heritage Summer Camp located in
Rochester, NY and would go away for weeks at a time in the middle of July thru
August. It is about a 7 hour drive from New Jersey. It was easier to drive as
she had way too many items to take with her, as they would be staying in tents.
She began attending this summer camp at the young age of 6 and finally, some 12
– 13 years later, became the director of the facility while studying her
undergrad. It is a very well-rounded camp emphasizing more on our religious practices,
chanting mantras, and bonding between American and Indian ways, as the kids
were coping in our ever-changing society. No parents were allowed to stay,
except for those volunteering their time for cooking, transporting, or medical
assistance. They had participated in various religious ceremonies conducted at
the Shri Raja Rajeshwari Temple by the head priest Sri Chaitanyananda also
known as Aiya. As we had heard so many good things about this temple, my wife
and I decided to visit. It is about a one and a half hour drive from the camp
site.
We
arrived at the temple, washed our hands and feet and proceeded inside. It was
the most peaceful and beautiful place I had visited in a very long time. Amman
looked so elegant in her attire that it instantly got our attention and we sat for
meditation. After a few minutes I wanted to walk and see the temple grounds. A
lady came and started to converse with us and upon seeing her I felt such a
high vibration that I could put my hands thru her and touch the divine. She was
such a pure soul and very innocent with a typical Indian accent. She lives in
the neighboring country Canada. I started to feel her energy and began shaking.
I was holding on to the wall adjacent to the bathroom and could hear her very
well however I was unable to utter a single word. I was speechless with sweat
pouring profusely.
She
exclaimed “are you O.K.” My wife told her “do not worry about him, as this
happens very frequently in most religious places where the energy is high.” Then
she asked “do you know Sai Baba?” We answered yes. She then said “I want to go
and see Swami but my husband does not want me to go.” “Do you want to go to see
Swami for his birthday?” She said “Swami please make this happen as I only want
to come and be a part of your birthday celebration!” Finally, her husband gave
her permission for two weeks to go and see Swami on his special day. In that
excitement she totally forgot to check her visa status and just purchased her
ticket, boarded the flight to India via Brussels where a connecting flight was
to be made. Brussels authority detained her because she did not have a visa to
go to India. She could not believe this was happening that she cried out to Swami.
“I only wanted to see you. How can this be happening?” The airport officials
wanted to know her purpose of going to India? She claimed that it was her grandfather’s
birthday and could not miss it. It also happened to be a holiday in Brussels. The
officer was touched by her sincere appeal to go forward and said he would
assist in all ways possible. He told her to go to the diamond shop inside the airport,
which happens to know the consulate general of the Indian Embassy.
The
store owner called his friend and stated the problem and he got up in the middle
of the night to drive to the airport. He picked up the passenger from the
consulate to get her passport validated and dropped her back just in time to
make her trip to see Swami. She thoroughly enjoyed her trip to Parthi and made
a promise that on her return flight home she will go and thank the store owner
and everyone who made an effort to make that trip possible. She boarded the
flight in India back to Canada via Brussels, and when she was waiting for her
connecting flight thought she will go and thank the diamond merchant (store). However
there was no such store. When she inquired the authorities about the store and
they replied that there was never a store let alone someone that knew the
consulate.
THIS was swami's Lela; to show his
divine presence for those who have surrendered to his divine Lotus feet. This is
a true story as I was the recipient to hear in the divine presence of Shri Raja
Rajeshwari in Rush, New York.
Sai
Ram.
