Padanamaskar!

This early morning I had a vision that someone asked me: “can you come to my house in north Jersey?” “Sure, wherever you want me I will go” and then another voice saying “come to London!”  I have never been to London before however if you want me to go I will be certainly be there. I then see Sathya Sai Baba in an open field in his full form wearing his traditional orange robe.  I see only three people standing around him yet they don’t see him. I immediately say Swami…..padanamaskar!  All three of them turn around wondering who I am talking to. He says “sure take padanamaskar.” Radhika, Neha and I prostrate and can feel the soft lotus feet of our beloved Sathya Sai and with that he blessed all of us.

Seeing God (Lord Krishna) In My Father's Friend

We had attended a friend’s daughter’s Arangetram (debut on-stage performance of a classical dance) and had a chance to meet quite a few of our old friends and families that we had not been able to keep up with. We also happened to meet one of my father’s old friends, Shri Gopala Sundaram, who was the one who had picked us up from the airport when we arrived in this country back in the 70s.

After his retirement, he went back to India to enjoy the culture and Carnatic music. He had come back to New Jersey to visit his daughter and was also invited for this function. As we had not seen him in over a few years I had invited him over to our house. As a reminder I called him after a week for the visit that was long overdue and as he did not pick up the phone I left a voicemail for him on his phone providing him with all of the necessary details. He was very touched by the voice message and would play it back again and again to all of his children. I do not know what I had said which could have touched him. I also offered to pick him up in the event he did not have a ride, but he said he will manage and will call if needed.

I was anxiously waiting everyday hoping that day would come soon and would tell my wife that GOD was coming to our house. She replied it is only your father’s friend not "GOD" I would tell her I only see Lord Krishna coming to our house. She said you have gone mad and insane that you keep talking like that.

The anticipated day had come, everything was well-planned, decorated, and a sumptuous dinner was prepared for the guest. I kept saying swami is coming! Swami is coming! I then opened the door and welcomed our guest inside our house. As I took one look I felt the divine vibrations and began trembling. I fell on his feet just in front of the swami room (puja room). He was shocked and told my wife I have heard of situations like this but never had a chance to witness it.

The following year we had our annual Bhajans and had invited him to our house and he said “depending on my health condition I will see as I am getting a knee surgery.” When I called him he said I will not be able to attend as I am having trouble walking let alone squatting on the floor. I told him you will come and sit, and when the bhajans are being sung I am going to go in a trance and fall directly in your lap. It just so happend like that and he wanted to know how I knew months in advance? I am not the doer and do not take any credit.

Dreams Relating To God

All dreams relating to god is real.""sri sathya sai baba""

Sri Raja Rajeshwari Temple : Rush, NY & Satya Sai Connection

My daughter, Neha, was enrolled in the Hindu Heritage Summer Camp located in Rochester, NY and would go away for weeks at a time in the middle of July thru August. It is about a 7 hour drive from New Jersey. It was easier to drive as she had way too many items to take with her, as they would be staying in tents. She began attending this summer camp at the young age of 6 and finally, some 12 – 13 years later, became the director of the facility while studying her undergrad. It is a very well-rounded camp emphasizing more on our religious practices, chanting mantras, and bonding between American and Indian ways, as the kids were coping in our ever-changing society. No parents were allowed to stay, except for those volunteering their time for cooking, transporting, or medical assistance. They had participated in various religious ceremonies conducted at the Shri Raja Rajeshwari Temple by the head priest Sri Chaitanyananda also known as Aiya. As we had heard so many good things about this temple, my wife and I decided to visit. It is about a one and a half hour drive from the camp site.

We arrived at the temple, washed our hands and feet and proceeded inside. It was the most peaceful and beautiful place I had visited in a very long time. Amman looked so elegant in her attire that it instantly got our attention and we sat for meditation. After a few minutes I wanted to walk and see the temple grounds. A lady came and started to converse with us and upon seeing her I felt such a high vibration that I could put my hands thru her and touch the divine. She was such a pure soul and very innocent with a typical Indian accent. She lives in the neighboring country Canada. I started to feel her energy and began shaking. I was holding on to the wall adjacent to the bathroom and could hear her very well however I was unable to utter a single word. I was speechless with sweat pouring profusely.

She exclaimed “are you O.K.” My wife told her “do not worry about him, as this happens very frequently in most religious places where the energy is high.” Then she asked “do you know Sai Baba?” We answered yes. She then said “I want to go and see Swami but my husband does not want me to go.” “Do you want to go to see Swami for his birthday?” She said “Swami please make this happen as I only want to come and be a part of your birthday celebration!” Finally, her husband gave her permission for two weeks to go and see Swami on his special day. In that excitement she totally forgot to check her visa status and just purchased her ticket, boarded the flight to India via Brussels where a connecting flight was to be made. Brussels authority detained her because she did not have a visa to go to India. She could not believe this was happening that she cried out to Swami. “I only wanted to see you. How can this be happening?” The airport officials wanted to know her purpose of going to India? She claimed that it was her grandfather’s birthday and could not miss it. It also happened to be a holiday in Brussels. The officer was touched by her sincere appeal to go forward and said he would assist in all ways possible. He told her to go to the diamond shop inside the airport, which happens to know the consulate general of the Indian Embassy.

The store owner called his friend and stated the problem and he got up in the middle of the night to drive to the airport. He picked up the passenger from the consulate to get her passport validated and dropped her back just in time to make her trip to see Swami. She thoroughly enjoyed her trip to Parthi and made a promise that on her return flight home she will go and thank the store owner and everyone who made an effort to make that trip possible. She boarded the flight in India back to Canada via Brussels, and when she was waiting for her connecting flight thought she will go and thank the diamond merchant (store). However there was no such store. When she inquired the authorities about the store and they replied that there was never a store let alone someone that knew the consulate.

THIS was swami's Lela; to show his divine presence for those who have surrendered to his divine Lotus feet. This is a true story as I was the recipient to hear in the divine presence of Shri Raja Rajeshwari in Rush, New York.

Connection To A Friend In Trouble

I grew up in Queens, New York in the early 70's. As my parents were heavily involved in drama plays and religious activities we had a chance to meet several families. Some families came from the vicinity of Long Island, which back then was a little better of a place. As the economy was getting better some family moved to New Jersey in search of space and opportunity. We too moved to East Brunswick New Jersey in 1979. My father was a devotee of Lord Subramanian and wanted to celebrate Skanda Sashti in a big way. My mother, alone, would cook for 300 or more people and the function was spread through word of mouth. As more and more people heard of the event they would bring them along; no invitation required. There was a group who were learning Carnatic music from the late Shri T.N. Bala who had composed several kirtanas on the lord. He was an accomplished singer and teacher who brought a group all the way from Long Island. In that group was Radha Subramanian who was, at the time, 14 or 15 years old. Her friend Shoba was around the same age. Both girls were very beautiful and as, in my family, we were four boys in the house, we always had the chance to meet a few girls at a time. Radha's parents were average middle-class people whereas Shoba's parents were well off. They were physicians. Regardless both of the girls participated in very similar activities and were very close friends. I was about 6 or 7 years older than them at the time and had a strong liking for Radha but because of her age I had to be careful. The parents also adored me and would always send us out. I looked after them very well.

As years went by, Radha and I lost touch and I got involved in business. When I was getting married I called Radha and both her and her mother attended my wedding in Madras in 1983. Shoba attended the reception. Over the years we kept in touch but not as much. I was unable to attend Radha and Srikanth's wedding. Shrikanth was studying at Columbia University. I managed to attend Shoba and Chip Natarajan's wedding which took place in Long Island. As years went by Radha moved to Ohio as Shrikanth was teaching at the University and Radha became a mother to a beautiful girl just like herself. As time went by we lost connection but never lost the connection in our hearts. In 2006, I had a dream that Radha was in trouble and needed my help. Only from 2004 I began having psychic powers so I knew that this was not in vain but she was actually in trouble. Again after two weeks Radha came in my dream begging "Koushik, please save me!". I knew I had to find her but that was as easy as finding a needle in a haystack. I did not know her married name nor did I know what town she was in. I contacted every person I knew since we came to this country and asked each and every one of them if they had any information regarding Radha's whereabouts. Any information would have sufficed if it would mean getting a step closer to finding her. Nothing came of that. Every function I went to that was the only thing on my mind. Getting to the bottom of this and finding Radha. A thought occurred to me that if I try contacting her childhood friend, Shoba, then I would finally find my Radha. Then I ran into yet another obstacle; I had no information as to where she was either. We have held Sai Bhajans in our house since 2006. One year the priest from the Rajaganapathi temple came and performed the Yantra Puja in our house and had the event recorded. He took a copy with him to the temple and was planning on playing it one day to share the event with everyone who visited the temple.

On that day he was to play the video I went to the temple and just before he was about to play the video I heard a very familiar voice and turned and saw this couple standing together. They came with one of the families who were performing a function in the temple that day. I called out "Shoba". She immediately turned around and said "I don't recognize you. Who are you?" I said "well I know who you are so I must know you." We caught up on all the minor details. I wanted to know the whereabouts of Radha but as a loyal friend she refused to give me any helpful information thinking that she is helping her when in reality she wasn't. I told Shoba that Radha had come in my dream asking me for help. She retorted "I do not believe in any of that!" I even gave her the details of how things were happening but still she didn't budge. She was certainly shocked for not having any faith in this matter. "Do not waste time as it is paramount that I have a chance to talk with her." She said "I will pass the message along to her. What exactly is it that you need to say or do for her?" I calmly replied "whatever message I have to relay to Radha is between her and I and therefore I cannot tell you." That's pretty much where the conversation ended. Days went by and there was no indication that Shoba had relayed my message to Radha. She was in her final stage of cancer and it was only a matter of days before she was going to be called home to the abode of the lord. Radha mentioned to Shoba "I am in a beautiful place. Very serene with lovely souls. Plenty of white light. Colorful. Everyone is waiting for me." She would then come back to reality and the life in her eyes would slowly dissipate. It was back to the routine of chemotherapy and pain. I would please with Shoba to just give me one chance to be with Radha and I never got the chance to bid farewell to my very dear friend.

On January 7, 2008 Radha left her body and joined the divine. I contacted Shoba again saying "I know Radha has passed and you know I have no way of knowing this unless I was physically there. I can tell you everything that took place on that very day." She still had her doubts and said "I still do not trust you. I want to talk to you wife." So without hesitation I passed the phone to Radhika and she said "believe Koushik. He is right." To win her trust I even told her the details that took place on January 7th. "Just 41 years old Radha passed away and is survived by her husband and two beautiful girls. She pursued her law degree." I went on and on about the details of how I knew what was going on even without physically speaking to Radha or anyone that even remotely knew her. Shoba then knew what a mistake she had made of not letting me see a friend who did in fact need me at a very crucial time in her life. Radha brightened the lives of every person she came into contact with. Like a shooting star the brilliance of her light has faded too quickly. I feel so very blessed to have had such a wonderful person in my life. May her soul rest in peace.
Unless the divine gives me permission I do not write. That is the reason they are not in order. It comes when it's meant to come.

Meeting & Connecting With A Living Siddhar

I have been very fortunate in meeting Balu Swami (Karur siddhar) by reading the blog by Uma Shiv Kumar. Actually my wife connected me to her; she found out the details from her friend then called Shanmugam, the devoted assistant to Balu Swami and had the privilege of talking to him. He had asked, does your husband believe in these matters? She said more so than me. He then replied, in that case ask him to call me because I want to talk to him. He is available on Thursday which is even better as it is guru’s day. Radhika had briefed me on the way Balu Swami operates. She said make sure you have a paper and a pencil to write down what he is going to say as he speaks pure Tamil in case you may want to go over anything later with him. After I came home from work around 11pm, New Jersey time, I called Shanmugam to find out if Balu Swami was available to speak. He said I have to drive to where he is and find out so call me back in a hour or so (Shanmugam has a retail business and when Balu Swami's devotees call on him, he leaves the store and rides his motorbike to find Balu Swami) as he does not stay in the same place all the time depending on the state of mind. I called him and connected with the most simple, loving, and caring man.

He asked me which floor of my house was I sitting in. I wondered how he knew that we had more than one floor. "I am on the second floor." He then asked "why do you have something in your hand?" Again, how is it possible that he knows? "I wanted to write down what you are saying." He replied with a simple "no need. Whatever I say you will only listen and follow. He asked if I had lit a lamp in the puja room. I said yes. He then said "no I only see candles I do not see any oil lamps." This is true because we had very recently switched from oil lamps to candles as my mother-in- law always spills oil so to avoid such catastrophes we had made the switch. He said Indian house oil lamp in puja room. He also did not want me to go to any temple as they are all looking for money. This also happened to be true as very recently I was in fact approached by a temple. Then he gave me a mantra to recite. I began chanting, but he stopped me to ask why my eye lids were open. I was wondering how in the world does he know if my eyes or open or not because he is some 10,000 miles away sitting in a rural village. With that being said I immediately closed my eyes and began chanting yet again. But it wasn't long before again he said "I still can see light going thru your eyes. Close them tightly and chant." With all these instructions I forgot the count. He said chant in your head your lips should not move. He suddenly said "stop. You have chanted 25 times already. Now I am sitting in your heart and there is nothing you can do to take me out. I will be with you all the time just chant the name with all the time you have available.

The human tendency is to doubt such powers so looked around the room to see him. Finally I knew he was beyond time and space and I will never know how he knew everything. As time went on I would only call him once in a while but my wife kept in touch more frequently as requirements might have been more and needed his help in various matters. The one problem that I did have was I had severe pain in my left leg at the time and had contacted several physicians and hospitals yet they kept saying there was no cure and that i wouldn't be able to walk for a long period of time. Even though I wanted to personally see him and get his blessings, I did not know how I was going to travel for a whole day or more before I see him. He assured me things will be taken care of once I decided to come. We, as family, went together to finally meet up with a living siddhar. We did not know what to expect of him. We, out of respect, took cashews, badam (almonds), raisins, pistachios, and fruits as offering to the saint.

After six hours of driving from Chennai we arrived in Karur along with Radhika’s cousin, his wife, and another friend Jayaraman. We were told to meet Shanmugam in front of the Shiva temple in Karur. It is said that Karur siddhar has attained maha samadi inside that very temple and there is his shrine next to the Shiva temple. After the siddhar attained samadhi the powers went to Balu Swami who has been living with those yogic powers.  We planned to stay in Karur for one week and enjoy his divine presence every day. We had the privilege of spending Maha Shivarathri with him. He is such a delight to be with, he was serious when needed and as playful as a child with a great sense of humor yet totally unaffected by all. One can see the utmost concentration in the work he performs. Balu Swami wanted me to go and visit Iyermalai, a Shivan temple built on a hill with 1,008 steps reaching to the top. They were extremely steep and could not just walk one step after the other. There was a certain method of climbing the temple steps. We had to walk with one foot in front of the other across each step sideways while chanting the unique mantra given to each of us individually. We were not to disclose what one anothers mantra was. The mantra was used for cleansing and in my case for repairing my left leg. I had no pain or problems whatsoever walking up and down the temple steps. We had a beautiful darshan of The Lord and prasadam as someone had performed Abhishekam. As I approached the sanctorum of the lord u went into a trance immediately.

After a while I came back to reality where it was beautiful and pristine.
Shanmugham, Rajesh, and Panchacharam, our driver, gave us company and made the trip  even more pleasant. I was thoroughly touched in so many ways of the simplicity of such a person with so much love for all. The trip was more than we expected and we were all touched in our own special ways by all of those that we met. Most of them barely have anything yet have the biggest hearts enough to hold a 1,000 people.I salute them. As he had said "you must have some karma to meet someone like me" because even the person who lives next door has no idea who I am. Then there are people who have been sitting here outside my door for the last 5 years hoping they'll get a word with me. Here are some pictures of us with Balu Swami in Karur. He attained mahasamadi on 11-25-2012. I am so thankful to have had the privilege of meeting a saint.

Power of God (Surrendering)

We had gone to India in 2011 and after visiting all the temples and places of interest we finally came back to our home in Chennai. My wife said "I have accompanied you everywhere you wanted to go. Now I want you to come with me to shop. I  do not have the patience like my wife when it comes to shopping. Despite all of that I joined her so-called "fun shopping" but it just wasn't for me. We took an auto rickshaw from our place to Pondi bazaar and the fare was 60 rupees. After several hours I knew my enjoyment level was decreasing and definitely wanted to go home. I went and flagged an auto rickshaw and haggling with a few finally one man said he would go where we wanted to go for a fare of 100 rupees. I told the man when I came in the morning it was only 60 rupees so why has the price gone up now? "Well sir, in the evening the roads are all one way and it takes a long time to go so the price of petrol has gone up as well. I told him today is your lucky day "GOD IS  SITTING  IN YOUR VEHICLE. I have a feeling we will get all green lights and be home in 15 minutes. In that case you will be paid 60 rupees. If it takes longer according to you then I will pay you 100 rupees as quoted by you earlier. Only no cheating. He agreed and we started our trip and in exactly 15 minutes we arrived home. He was speechless but managed to get out "sir, I have been driving in Chennai for the longest time and have never encountered a day like this. I do not want any money from you. Please bless me that all the time you will be with me. I am no one to make a statement of this nature but because he truly believed it happened for him. I was happy and paid him 100 rupees for being honest and surrendering to the divine.

Guru Diksha

On April 30, 2010 Shiva Guru Dixitar of Rajaganapathi temple said my grandfather gave me Diksha and today I am giving the same to you in the divine presence of Amman. Only you will sit on the tiger skin and it will be placed in your puja room.
You are in the same line of a guru. You will prostrate only to Swami and no one else.
Balance family on one hand and guru on the other only you will know how. I am that energy which you cannot fathom. Whenever you want to see the divine visualize anything and I will appear in that form. It could be an ant or even an elephant, animate or inanimate, form or formless.  I will come and validate that I am in you at all times.

Homeless Man In NYC

I saw a homeless man on the streets of New York on June 30, 2009. He was lying on the street saying “everyone has given up on me” He was waiting for his sister to come and perform his last rights. I go and wake him up and try to make him confortable and say that “I am the The Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and I have come to save you.” He is utterly stunned at my words.” Everyone else in my life has given up on me but you have come to save me.” That is our lord. Full of compassion and no merit required for his love.
I wonder who I am that I can even say these words without being attached to them.

Connecting To The Supreme Energy

I have always wondered as to who I really am? Why do messages come to me, and what is the purpose? It does not matter what anyone is doing. It is each soul’s journey and just because your spouse has that energy it’s not necessarily given that you too will receive that same energy if not anything at all. I tried Isha Yoga and when the guru would clap slightly the people would go crazy and go into a trance but nothing happened to me. I attended the class for seven days and the same thing every day; nothing. I even went to a closed retreat where you have to abandon all your personal items such as your keys, wallet, and other materialistic items. This is so you will not leave the compound as certain kind of energy was infused into you and to the outside world it or you may look crazy!! On one such day Jaggi Vasudev, the founder and teacher, was conducting the class and again all it took was one clap and there went the people; crazy. I was watching this one particular lady. Very short in stature, hardly 4-5 feet tall, going crazy and I said to myself I am going to hold onto her so that whatever is happening to her will simultaneously happen to me. But as always still nothing. All I was doing was holding her so that she will not fall. Later I found that she was a highly prominent physician from the Chicago area. Moral of the story: just because one has it you cannot get it until that almighty wants you to be in His fold.

Meeting Dr. P. V shankar { Anna elder brother}, A Very Special Person In My Life

Our family we had planned a vacation in the year 2006-2007 to take a cruise around the Caribbean. One day, after several days on the cruise ship, as I was relaxing a message came that I have to go and meet this person in one of my friends’ house but I have to make sure that I dress the same way as you would to a temple with fruits on a platter for him. I found this extremely strange. I thought to myself, what type of demand is that? I mentioned to my wife and she exclaimed that I had gone completely mad with all these things and coming up with all the bizarre requests. If you wear an Indian outfit in the winter and go people will think you have gone crazy. After returning from our trip, I made arrangement to meet with the intended family even though I had no idea who this person was. I followed my wife's request of not wearing a dhoti and kurta. As I have to live with her and I am sure that even The Lord would agree I follow her command. I rang the doorbell and the person whom I was to meet opened the door. A man not taller than 5 feet and a few inches, with a small frame, a very warm and loving smile greeted me with “sai ram”. I started to shake and tremble. He took the gift I had and placed it on the side and told the family members not to disturb him. He took me to a room, closed the door, put the fan on, and I was speechless. There were no words I could utter which would describe his demeanor and beauty.

Very concerned he asked are you alright will you able to drive back home. I had a glass of water, wiped the perspiration, and said “you are not a human being. Whatever you see stays with you and only you. Do not tell anyone.” Then he asked “what all have you seen?” As I could not tell him right off the top of my head I told him that I will bring him my notes the next day. We were called for a satsang in the house and my wife also joined us. He narrated the unconditional love that god has for his devotees and that touched my wife and she began crying uncontrollably. He comforted her and said come and visit us for Navarati. Without any hesitation we booked our flight to be with him. We did not know anything about them but what we did know was that there was a certain heart to heart connection. I also have my brother in California so I thought I will visit them first then continue forward. From the time we landed we were being tracked every step of the way.

Very lovingly and caring we were asked about our whereabouts but never did I feel that someone was in my personal space. I adoringly called him Anna, or elder brother, as everyone called him the same. We told them we will be there again on Monday. We were on “his GPS” and conveyed our status hour by hour until the time we finally met ay their house. From outside it looked like a very common townhouse attached on one side but inside was extremely beautiful in all ways imaginable. We settled down and had a sumptuous lunch. He said to go and take some rest as we have the gathering in the evening and need all the energy for that. It was like a very concerned mother talking not an elder brother and a couple of times we neglected his concerns. Finally we gave in and went to bed and slept for almost three hours. We woke up, took a bath, and went downstairs to join all the members for special Navarati festivities. Anna came and asked me where I was going to sit and I said all the way in the back as I do not want to disturb anyone as their energy is high. I’ll go into a trance and might fall on someone as I have no control over that energy surge. The program started with beautiful slokas and adoring the supreme divine Devi Sai Ma. Anna came and sat next to me and when the time came for him to speak he went forward and gave an excellent message from swami's teachings. I was deeply touched.

After the program finished he went and sat on a couch far away from the crowd and like a magnet I was pulled towards him and sat directly under his feet. He said “Koushik, you are unnecessarily bringing attention to me. Please move. I was so hurt but with love in my heart for him I walked to a window gazing out with tears pouring uncontrollably. He knew what I was going through and walked over to comfort me and as his eyes met mine I went into the trance. Now mind you, I am over 6 feet tall. I fell straight back hitting the plush carpet and was cradled in the divines hand. We had many of these warm loving days with this special family. The last day after the program he had to go to the airport to pick up his brother-in –law. As he was coming down the steps and I was already in a trance no one could stop and just like that I fell face-forward on the cold granite floor forgetting that now I had my eye glasses on his feet. I only know who I saw and did not care what anyone thought about me. Our trip of great moments was coming to an end and Anna offered to take us to the airport. He set the alarm for 4 AM and personally dropped us off. What more can I ask of him? He said “do not cry I am with you.” We boarded the flight and I began reminiscing about the trip we just experienced and again I began sobbing missing him. I have never felt this way before for anyone and my hands got numb and could not breathe.

A passenger came forward and told my wife I am doctor let me try and help. The airline informed tower control for emergency crew to meet us at the terminal for transport. The strong and fond love that I have for my Anna cannot be explained in words. My wife called and narrated the situation. After that there was a disconnection in my life with them. I would ask myself what did I do wrong that he would suddenly ignore my calls or avoid me reaching out to him. I guess it was up to me to rattle my brain and figure this out myself instead of just clutching on to him. Although I was hurt, I would still think of him and cry. I asked aloud “why did you come in to my life?” After several years he was in town to see his brother-in-law and even though I was still angry with him I knew I couldn't wait to see him. Anna was supposed to give a speech at a temple. He arrived early and was sitting all the way at the end of the room. I did not know prior to coming to the temple that he was going to be there. I walked through a service door and could feel his presence; a very strong energy pulling me towards him and was holding onto the door as to prevent me from falling. Someone asked me if I was okay because I was shaking and sweating yet still had no words to explain that very same connection I had felt at their house.

I got the courage to walk over to him with the same unconditional love poured forward. Over the years I have had many interactions with him every time one better than the previous. I have the utmost profound respect for his words and will never let him down.

As I had mentioned I am able to see what is going to happen. Sometimes it's prior to meeting that person or place or some only when I see the person(s) or family. I met with a family close to where I live and over time became close and I treated him like my own younger brother as my family were in different states. I did not have too many chances to meet on a regular basis or even holiday's due to family dynamics.  He shared both his happy and sad moments with me and told me that his mother was not keeping well back home in India. He made several trips back and forth to check on her health and would come back and share the news with me. I am not quite sure whether it was in the year 2011 or 2012 that his mother's condition was deteriorating. He returned from spending time with her. I asked him to join me at Raja Ganapathi temple in Swedesboro, New Jersey for the thread changing ceremony and being that the temple is quite far I could also use the company. We met up in the early morning and began driving. Before we began driving I had no message for him whatsoever but as soon as he sat next to me the message came. My disclaimer was "do not be upset with me for the message I am about to deliver as I am merely the mailman delivering what is given to me. Please go back to India and make arrangements for your mothers departure as she has only three weeks to live from today. She has suffered enough and make your father come to terms with that. We arrived in the temple and went and joined the thread changing ceremony and after our batch we volunteered to help others. My friend went and told the dixitar, priest, the message I had given him. He replied "anything which comes from his mouth cannot be wrong and should be followed accordingly." I do not blame him for being upset with the news I told him as no one would like to hear that their mother will soon be passing no matter what condition they were in. He did not follow my instructions that I was instructed to give to him and low and behold three weeks, on a Monday in the month of September, he called me at home during very early hours and asked for my help. I asked him what had happened. He stated "my mother passed away, can you drop me off at JFK airport." I said "no problem". I went and dropped the family off at the airport and gave some emergency funds in the event he needed it seeing as all of this came as a surprise to him. He returned back after performing his duties, as eldest son, for his mother. The family has disconnected and dropped all ties from us since then. My message to all of the readers: I only deliver and in no way am I connected to contents in the envelope. Had he trusted the message or me he may have been able to enjoy a few more weeks with his mother. With all my love to each and every one of you. May you be happy and find the inner guru in you.

Meeting Shelly 2010

I would try and explain to my mother my spiritual progression, but she really did not understand what I was talking about. As far as she was concerned the motto she lives by is do good to everyone while we are here in this part of the universe and see god in everyone. I can't even light a candle next to her taking part in so many fields of volunteer work. She helps people with their taxes in season, knits blankets for children in hospitals, teaches English as a second language, serves food to elders and delivers them as well, for those who are immobile,  from the plentiful garden which was my fathers ambition to grow and he did a great job. In such a small space many kinds of vegetables and fruits were grown. Tending to the garden of love she would take the harvest and give it where it was needed. Last but certainly not least, painting, which she took up in the year 2000 and perfected it with her art teacher Shelly.

Shelly was disabled but had such a passion for living from what I have heard from mom. She would, in spite of the disability, put forth time and effort in dressing properly and it showed. Because she was unable to drive someone had to pick her up at her residence and then again drop her off after closing her art studio. As my mother had no pressing obligations to fulfill she volunteered to serve her teacher and overtime was given full access to her house. Shelly was very financially well-off but chose to live with her only son and his wife. Her daughter-in-law was not too fond of her.

She was given a suite adjoining the house with separate fully operating utilities, a beautiful view of the horse stables, and lush green open space. A television hung from the wall and a special bed was designed solely for her. There was a machine specially made to assist her when she needed to be transferred from the bed to her wheelchair, private bathroom, kitchen, dining area, heated swimming pool, and an elevator if she wanted to join the rest of the family in the theater to watch movies. She occasionally got a taste of Indian food and would sometimes request for it to be less spicy the next time around. My mother continued cooking her favorites. When I went to see my mother she asks if I would come and meet her teacher. I am sure she must have mentioned me somewhere along the way so this way when I meet her shelly will be able to put a face to the words.

We finally arrived at her house, introduced each other, and made small talk to evaluate her situation. I am in no way an "expert" or have the authority to give advice since she was in her late 70's if not more. After an hour or so my mom asked if we should leave because she didn't have all that much strength. I nodded okay and she said that she would go and get the car or I could come out later. That caught me off guard as I didn't expect her to say anything like that. So I waited at the foot of Shelly's bed staring at her face without blinking. Shelly, who was all together in her thoughts, became very anxious and scared. "Who are you? What are you doing? Are you trying to save me?" she asked. I put my hand under the blanket and held on very tightly to her right toe and the space in between. The intensity of my gaze remained. Again the same voice asked "who are you?" The most profound statement followed and I replied "many people want to see me, but a very few get to see me and indeed you are blessed to see me." Just like that my hand automatically retracted and I released my grip on her toe. I thanked her for giving me the opportunity to get to know her.

A few months pass and I receive the news that she had officially merged with the divine. What a blessed soul. I have goose bumps as I am writing this with tears in my eyes that I had the pleasure of knowing a wonderful soul.

Meeting A Saint - Chennai 2010

While at Sai Samiti they made a trip to Puttaparthi to see Swami, as he had asked for them to come. Unfortunately I was unable to join her mainly because it was peak business season and although she had paid and enrolled I would have liked to attended. Another obstacle that stood in the way was in the midst of vacationing to India my wife's father met with an accident and was hospitalized so with that we had to go only in the late month of October to bring him back home. My mother-in-law is a little over the top when it comes to temples and one such day she wanted me to accompany her in visiting the Hanuman temple. For some reason a voice within my head would not allow me to go but insisted we go to the Kapaleeshwarar Temple in Mylapore, Chennai. I have no idea why. Finally, everyone gave in and off we went to the temple in Mylapore on a Sunday; a very hectic day at the temple.

I have not the slightest clue when it comes to sequence as far as what to do first in the temple. My mother-in-law guided me when we went. Due to the crowd they kept closing the curtain. My wife asked me "what now? We've been in line for such a long time and they've closed the curtain." "No problem" I reassured her, "we will go around the circumference once and they will re-open the curtain." I am more interested in seeing people while in action practicing their weekly rituals in coming to the temple. I have no clue. While we were going in circles there were statues of sixty-three saints. I do not know what they stand for.

I saw a man with tattered clotting and an unshaven face standing in front of such an idol pleading. I had absolutely no idea what he was saying but you could see the intensity on his face so I stood next to him watching him very eagerly with a keen eye. My wife stood beside me and tears were flowing uncontrollably from her eyes. Something had happened. Perhaps a shift? I could see that something had gone from my body into his and now all I can see is his jaw move up and down as I am inside of him. After a few minutes he abruptly stops, turns around, and cups my hands in his. He simply says "Sir, I am 79 years old. Loka Samastha Sukino Bhavantu" and just walks away. My wife was dumbfounded and speechless. "What was all that about?" she inquired. I could only reply with a simple "I have no idea. But I have a feeling that is why Swami wanted me to come to this temple."

It is very rare to witness that unconditional devotion and pure dedication even though he barely had enough for basic necessities for daily living. He was more concerned with world peace. In this modern age, everything is about speed because no one has time for one another anymore but the one thing they are forgetting is that their missing the whole picture of LIFE!!!

Connecting To The Supreme Energy. Proper Antenna to receive the transmission

Many years ago, approximately around the year 2001/2001 my wife was learning North Indian classical music in Edison New Jersey. It was the teachers wish that once a month a family will host all members and all families will get together. On one occasion a family in Rutherford NJ had the function in their house.  My wife wanted me to join, but due to my retail business I could not go with her so I met up with her at 11pm and the house was a very ordinary house. A Gujarati family was living there. I walked inside and the function was being held in the basement. When I walked down to the basement steps my head could touch the ceiling. As I stood at the bottom most step, the whole room was full, except for one chair that was empty. A gentleman came and said "sir please have a seat.” “I am sorry someone is already sitting in the chair” I said. Again he replied with “there is no one sitting” yet I could see that Sathya Sai Baba was sitting in that particular chair. None of our family was in Swami’s fold for us to even know who he was. I brushed that aside and my daughter and wife called for me to come and sit with them on the other side. When I went on that side I saw Shirdi Sai. Wow this family is blessed that they must be Baba's devotees. A few minutes later I whispered in my daughter’s ear that I have a feeling it is their daughter’s birthday and she is going to get a dozen yellow roses and there were no signs of this anywhere that I could have gotten a glimpse. Sure enough it was the girl’s birthday and did receive a bouquet from her parents and they were in fact yellow roses. When the program finished in the late morning hours I went to the host family to thank them for having us. “By the way are you a Sai devotee?” “Yes we are. How did you know? There are no pictures or statues of him in the house.” I said “I can see him here today as we speak.” The man said “sir you are blessed to see him because your antenna is connected in the right direction for you to receive his transmission.” “I am only his servant to go and serve whomever he wishes to give the message to.”

Meeting My Guru *Lord Dakshinamurthy*

My wife had gone for a spiritual retreat in Atlanta and I was missing her very much as I was unable to accompany her. I would call her every day because I just could not function without hearing her voice, couldn't drive the car, work, or pay attention to the business. When I did hear her voice I would go into a trance and faint. It was 2004 and my mother-in-laws birthday was in July. As the daughter was not there I wanted to take my in-laws to Arsha Vidya Gurukulam. I have received many invitations from them for over twenty years but for some reason or the other I could not make a trip to see The Lord. On that hot summer day we made a trip to Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania and being a Saturday I did not check the timings or the programs which would be taking place. We arrived at or about 10:30 and the place was extremely crowded. We  wanted to go inside the auditorium but were stopped by a volunteer! Sir, this is a private function. Only those who have registered for the  class can come inside. I pleaded with the man and explained to him that we have travelled a long distance and wanted to at least see The Lord. He said “you may go in on one condition. When Pandit Jasraj (the singer) comes in along with all the television crew you have to leave.”

Lord Dakshinamurthy - "Guru of Gurus"

We rightfully agreed and went inside. It was so crowded that there was absolutely no seats for anyone but luckily my in-laws were offered seats by some strangers. I looked around and found one seat facing Lord Dakishamurthy. Until I came to this place I did not even know who he was. That is how much knowledge I had about our religion. I occupied the seat and watched the black granite statue of The Lord in awe and wondered why I was put in this situation today. I closed my eyes and meditated on The Lord and was taken to another planet. While in the celestial surroundings all I can see are the lords in the grandeur. At this point in time tears are just flowing uncontrollably. I sat with no control over time and space whatsoever. My in-laws were worried thinking what has happened to this boy? It had been almost six hours from the time I sat. Pandit Jasraj had apparently arrived with his entourage and sang however I was completely unaware nor did anyone disturb me from what I know. When I finally came out of the trance, wherever I looked, I only saw Lord Krishna. Yet there was not a single picture or statue anywhere. The organizers said “we knew you were in bliss that is why we did not disturb you.” It was the most memorable trip in a very long time and I have not visited the place again. It’s been almost ten years now. I am convinced that if The Lord wishes to see me again he will bring me back to his abode in Saylorsburg P.A

Meeting Our Guru (Teacher) 2004

As they say, when the disciple is ready the teacher comes and finds his student. I was very much involved with Isha Yoga from the years 2000 to 2004. I did not want to change or look for any guru as I was very much in connection with Jaggi Vasudev and thought that nothing could ever come into my life and prove otherwise. I have always been blessed that I did not have to go find any guru as I was put in the right place at the right time. Whereas my wife had it a little different and that was not the case with her because she had to go far for everything. While conversing with a friend it was casually mentioned that "for Koushik, everything comes so easy." She said there is someone coming very close to where you live, why don't you go and meet him? My wife requested me to join her as she did not want to go by herself. I reluctantly went with her.

There was a man who had a PowerPoint presentation on Science and Spirituality. I watched the event and excused myself and said I am happy with what I have and anyway do not understand your topic of discussion. I am very simple. This is very complicated. My wife and my mother-in-law were touched with his power. Several days later I got a call.  "Are you ready to come with me? I will take you all the way to the top!" I felt as though I could not part from my teacher Jaggi Vasudev so I simply said "if your power is stronger than his you may call on me and I will follow. It happened seamlessly. I did not do anything. Isha Yoga fell out. On our anniversary we went to Gurvayoor Temple in Morganville, New Jersey.

Our only daughter was in camp and could not join us. We proceeded to the altar, gave our details, only to find out that my wife had forgot to mention my daughters name. I told her we only have one child and you forgot her name. By the time the priest came back I fell into a trance and hit the ground. The priest as well as my wife applied vibhuti, holy ash, on my forehead and gave me water. We returned home and I got a call from California. "So what did you do yesterday?" I did not want to give any information but wanted to see what he knew and kept the answers short. We went to a temple. "What god form do you like?"No one has ever asked a question like that before so I really did not have an answer. He replied "I am LORD Krishna" I am the one who came to you when you were on the floor in the temple and put water in your mouth." With that I knew that I had met my GURU and LORD.

Continuing With The Guru's Guidance

My wife was progressing on her spiritual path and I had asked Shri Madhukar "whatever you gave Radhika; I want double." Only upon meeting him did I begin experiencing inner visions of the lords, going into trances and Siddis. I could see things happening in the future, predict birthdays of complete strangers, how much money they had in their pocket, vehicular accidents, providing full-detail of make and model of the car, detailed information about the occupant and which part of their body was going to be impacted. I enjoyed all these Siddis. I was a workaholic for ten years and not once did I ever take time off or leave the business in someone else's hands to run. One day, Shri Madhukar called me and said "I am going back to India." I was devastated. What was I going to do without his guidance or at least the option of calling on him when needed? He asked "do you want to come to India? If you do all you have to do is buy a ticket and leave everything else to me." I told my wife that I was going to India and the whole family including the extended family fought with me. "Have you gone mad? Leaving the business and running after a guru?" Nevertheless, I knew I had to go so I wrote my checks for the store for the three weeks I would not be there and my employees who did not want to work were willing to come forward in looking after everything while I was away so that I can go in pursuit of my spiritual goal. My wife fought with me all the way to the travel agency. "How can you choose him over me?" I was assured that nothing would stop me from meeting him. The day of my flight there was a severe snow storm that had the entire state paralyzed. It was declared that only Emergency Vehicles were permitted on the roads and all civilians had to remain inside until the state-of-emergency warning was lifted. I did not follow those instructions but instead abided by my guru's words. I had chosen a different route and no one, at any point in time, had stopped me. Needless to say I made to the airport on time only to find out that ALL flights were cancelled……except, AIR INDIA, my flight to Chennai with the status of " On time - de-icing the wings." After all the necessary airport protocols were followed I finally boarded my flight. LORD KRISHNA appeared in astral form. He said "finally you came to play with me!" I finally arrived in Chennai, was picked up by a volunteer, and taken to Shri Madhukar's residence where I rested quite comfortably.  A private room with a fan, air conditioning, restroom facilities, and all other basic necessities were available to me. There was such hospitality at every beck and call. What more could I have asked for? The next day when I went to bed in the early morning hours, due to jet lag as well as the fan making noise, I could not sleep because I felt someone pulling my rudrakasha mala yet I knew there was no one there but me. Again there was a slight tug and there had to be someone for sure who was playing with my ears. I was thinking to my self that "hmm this is very strange; my wife is not here so who could be doing these things. Low and behold the strong voice, I looked again and saw Shiva lying right next to me from head to toe. The snake around his neck was playing with both my mala and ear. I saw a thatched roof house with two patios, one on each side, and a long courtyard entrance and for the very first time in my life I see Shridi Sai in astral form."Why are you looking for me everywhere I am right in you?" I heard huge bells ringing and hanuman carrying the universe "Loka Samasta So Kino Bhavantu" This was the very first time the connection of Sai was ever presented to me. Never once did he suggest or influence me in any way to take Shirdi Sai or Sathya Sai as a guru or utter his name.
